Last Updated: June 1, 2026
1. General Disclaimer
The information, software, and services provided through the PLocker mobile application ("the Application") and the PLocker website at ("the Website") are provided by Dipankar Kolay ("the Developer," "we," "our," or "us") for general informational and personal security purposes only. All content, materials, and functionality are provided in good faith, but no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied, is made regarding the accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, completeness, or ongoing fitness of any information, software, or service provided by PLocker.
Your use of the Application and reliance on any information or functionality provided therein is strictly at your own risk. The Developer shall not be held liable for any errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or delays in the information provided, nor for any actions taken in reliance upon such information. The Application is a tool designed to assist you in managing your digital credentials; it does not, and cannot, guarantee absolute security, data integrity, or protection against all possible threats.
By using PLocker, you expressly acknowledge and agree that you have read, understood, and voluntarily accepted the terms of this Disclaimer in its entirety. If you do not agree with any part of this Disclaimer, you must discontinue all use of the Application immediately and uninstall it from your device.
2. No Professional Advice Disclaimer
The PLocker Application and its associated website are not intended to provide, and should not be construed as providing, professional advice of any nature. Specifically:
- No Legal Advice: Nothing in the Application, on the Website, or in any communication from the Developer constitutes legal advice. The Developer is not a lawyer, and PLocker does not establish an attorney-client relationship. Any legal questions or concerns regarding data protection compliance, regulatory obligations, or the legal implications of using a password manager should be directed to a qualified legal professional in your jurisdiction.
- No Security Consulting: While PLocker incorporates AES-256 encryption and follows security best practices, the Application is not a substitute for professional security consulting or a comprehensive security audit of your digital systems. Organizations with specific security compliance requirements (such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR) should engage qualified security professionals to evaluate their overall security posture, including password management.
- No Financial Advice: The Application does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or guidance regarding the management of financial accounts. Users should consult qualified financial professionals for decisions related to financial account security and management.
- No IT Consulting: PLocker is not a replacement for professional IT support or system administration. Organizations should maintain appropriate IT security policies, access controls, and incident response procedures independent of any single software tool.
You should not rely solely on PLocker for the security of your digital life. The Application is one component of a broader personal security strategy that should include device security, physical security, network security, secure backup practices, and ongoing security awareness.
3. Security Disclaimer
PLocker employs AES-256 encryption—the Advanced Encryption Standard with a 256-bit key—to protect your Vault Data. AES-256 is widely recognized as one of the most secure encryption standards currently available and is trusted by the United States government and military, NATO, global financial institutions, and intelligence agencies worldwide to safeguard their most sensitive and classified information. The National Security Agency (NSA) has approved AES-256 for the protection of information classified at the TOP SECRET level.
However, no security system is perfect or 100% secure. Despite the strength of AES-256 encryption and the defense-in-depth architecture of PLocker—which layers AES-256 application encryption on top of Android's file-based encryption, application sandboxing, and biometric authentication—it is essential that users understand and accept the following limitations:
- Future Cryptographic Advances: AES-256 is considered secure against all known classical computing attacks. However, theoretical or practical advances in cryptanalysis could potentially weaken or break AES-256 in the future. Quantum computing, in particular, could theoretically reduce the effective security of AES-256 to approximately 128 bits through Grover's algorithm—still computationally infeasible but representing a theoretical reduction in security margin. The Developer cannot predict or guarantee the long-term resilience of AES-256 against all future technological developments.
- Implementation Vulnerabilities: The security of PLocker depends not only on the strength of the AES-256 algorithm itself, but also on the correctness of its implementation—including key derivation (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256), initialization vector generation, cipher block chaining mode operations, and secure memory handling. While the Developer has made every reasonable effort to implement these cryptographic operations correctly, undiscovered implementation vulnerabilities or bugs could theoretically exist.
- Platform Dependency: PLocker relies on the Android operating system's security architecture, including its application sandbox, file system permissions, cryptographic service provider, and biometric subsystems. A vulnerability in any of these underlying platform components could potentially impact the security of data stored by PLocker. The Developer has no control over the security of the Android platform itself and cannot guarantee that future Android updates will not introduce vulnerabilities.
- Physical and Side-Channel Attacks: If an attacker gains physical possession of your unlocked device, or if a sophisticated attacker employs side-channel analysis techniques (such as timing attacks, power analysis, or electromagnetic emission analysis) against your device while PLocker is performing cryptographic operations, theoretical attack vectors may exist that bypass software-level protections.
You agree that you use PLocker with a full understanding of these limitations and that you accept the inherent risk that no security system can provide absolute protection. The Developer encourages all users to stay informed about developments in cryptography and information security and to evaluate their personal threat model when choosing security tools.
4. Data Loss Disclaimer
The Developer of PLocker shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss, corruption, or inaccessibility of your Vault Data—including passwords, secure notes, categories, settings, and any other information stored within the Application—regardless of the cause of such loss. Data loss can occur for numerous reasons, many of which are outside the Developer's control. By using PLocker, you expressly accept all risks related to data loss and agree that the Developer bears no responsibility for preserving, recovering, or restoring your data.
Potential causes of data loss for which the Developer is not responsible include, but are not limited to:
- Device loss, theft, physical damage, or destruction;
- Device malfunction, hardware failure, or storage media degradation;
- Operating system crashes, corruption, or failed updates;
- Accidental or intentional uninstallation of the Application without first creating a backup;
- Clearing of application data through Android system settings;
- Forgetting the master password, which is the sole cryptographic key to decrypt the vault;
- Corruption of the encrypted SQLite database file due to unexpected application termination, power loss, or storage errors;
- Malware, ransomware, or other malicious software that encrypts, deletes, or corrupts local files on your device;
- Factory resetting the device without first transferring backup files;
- Android system-level data management features that automatically clear application data;
- Failure of the backup and restore mechanism due to file system errors, permission changes, or Android version incompatibilities;
- Any other circumstance, foreseeable or unforeseeable, that results in the loss, corruption, or inaccessibility of your data.
The importance of regular encrypted backups cannot be overstated. The Developer strongly and repeatedly recommends that you create encrypted vault backups using the built-in backup feature and store multiple copies of these backups on independent storage media in physically separate locations—for example, on your personal computer, an external USB drive, and a trusted secondary device. The Developer recommends creating a new backup after any significant addition or modification to your vault data and testing your ability to restore from backup periodically to ensure the backup files are valid and functional.
No backup strategy is foolproof, but a robust, multi-location, regularly-tested backup routine is the single most effective protection against permanent data loss. The Developer has designed PLocker's backup system to make this process as straightforward as possible, but the responsibility for executing and maintaining a backup strategy rests entirely with you.
5. Third-Party Links Disclaimer
The PLocker Application and Website may contain references, links, or mentions of third-party websites, services, applications, or products that are not owned, operated, or controlled by Dipankar Kolay. This may include references to alternative password managers, security tools, donation platforms (such as PayPal and Razorpay), code hosting platforms (such as GitHub), and other external resources.

You acknowledge and agree that the Developer shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage, loss, or harm caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with your use of or reliance on any third-party content, goods, or services.
When you access a third-party website or service, you do so at your own risk and should review the privacy policy, terms of service, and security practices of that third party before engaging with it. The Developer has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party entities.
6. Accuracy of Information
